Job summary

Lookers is recruiting a commercially focused Division Assistant Accountant to support the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager across multiple dealership sites in the North East. The role focuses on analysing financial performance, ensuring accurate transactions and assisting with month-end processes.

You will work within a busy finance team, requiring a solid understanding of accounting disciplines, strong Excel skills and familiarity with dealer management systems.

Qualifications

• A good understanding of the relevant accounting disciplines.
• Track record of good performance in a commercial finance environment.
• Accountancy qualification or working towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent) is advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager in daily financial operations of the Division.
• Analyse the financial performance of the Division and ensure accuracy and integrity of all transactional accounting.
• Assist with the month-end close and allocate responsibility for the dealerships within the division.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 basic salary DOE

Hours: 37.5 (Monday-Friday 9-5pm)

We’re looking for commercially focused Division Assistant Accountants to support financial performance across our dealerships.

The Division Assistant Accountant will provide essential support to the Division Accountant and Senior Accounting Manager in managing the daily financial operations of the Division. The focus of this position is to analyse the financial performance of the Division, ensure the accuracy and integrity of all transactional accounting and assist with the month-end close. The role holder will be responsible for allocated dealerships within division.

What you’ll bring:

• A good understanding of the relevant accounting disciplines.
• Track record of good performance in a commercial finance environment.
• An Accountancy qualification or working towards is advantageous, but not essential: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent body).
• Expert proficiency in MS Excel and strong working knowledge of the Motor Industry and Dealer Management systems
