Job summary

The McLean Partnership seeks a Divisional Managing Director to lead the Building Services & Solutions division in South-East England. You will own P&L, drive integration of acquired businesses, and coach entrepreneurial MDs to scale performance.

Reporting to the Group CEO, you’ll shape strategy, improve margins, and ensure common standards while preserving what made each business successful. This is a high-visibility role with a clear path to group-level leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of growing a division or business unit of comparable scale.
• Experience overseeing multiple businesses simultaneously, with organic growth and integration.
• Background in industrials — manufacturing, construction, building services or related sectors.
• Ability to move across sectors and adapt quickly.
• Commercial mindset with credibility to restructure and set direction across diverse cultures.
• Comfort operating in acquisitive, fast-moving groups.
• Ambition to progress to group-level leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the P&L for the division and develop a credible growth plan.
• Integrate acquired businesses onto common standards without disrupting success.
• Drive margin discipline and operational improvement across the portfolio.
• Lead and coach entrepreneurial MDs across the portfolio.
• Identify cross-selling and synergy opportunities with other divisions.
• Support buy-and-build activity from target assessment to post-deal integration.
• Report clearly at group board level.
