Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a growing district heating and HIU team operating across Southeast London.

The role covers planned maintenance, reactive repairs and fault finding on heating and plumbing systems in occupied residential environments, with mobile working in a concentrated geographical area and on-call responsibilities as part of an rota.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical or plumbing background with heating system experience.
• Experience with HIUs and communal/district heating systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence and customer-facing in occupied homes.

Responsibilities

• PPM on district heating systems.
• Reactive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Fault diagnosis on communal heating networks.
• Service and maintain HIUs.
• Work on energy centres and district heating infrastructure.
• Install/replace cylinders, radiators, and associated plumbing equipment.
• Maintain heating controls including 2-port and 3-port valves.
• Investigate and resolve heating and hot water issues.
• Work in occupied residential properties and communal plant areas.
• Complete service reports and maintenance records.
• Participate in an on-call rota.
