IronmongeryDirect is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support the smooth running of our distribution centre in Basildon. You will handle picking, packing, loading, and stock checks to ensure orders reach customers accurately and on time.

In this fast-paced role, you will follow safety guidelines, maintain tidy workspaces, and support the wider supply chain. The position offers a supportive team environment and opportunities for training and development.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack goods to prepare orders for customer distribution.
• Safely load and unload vehicles, following all safety guidelines.
• Verify deliveries by checking items against accompanying paperwork to ensure accuracy.
• Book in items promptly, meeting agreed KPIs.
• Store goods correctly in designated locations within the Distribution Centre.
• Carry out rework activities as required.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace at all times.
• Follow best practices to prioritise staff safety in all tasks.
• Keep external areas (loading bays, skips, etc.) clean and tidy consistently.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are upheld throughout the facility.

• Able to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar environment
• Certification or experience in operating warehouse machinery such as forklifts
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software
