Job summary

Monkhouse is a leading UK schoolwear retailer based in Kent. We are creating a new Team Leader role to support the growing business and oversee a flexible, multi-skilled Distribution Centre team.

You will allocate work, train and coach colleagues, monitor KPIs, and act as the first escalation point for operational issues. The role requires flexible hours and the ability to work across multiple functions.

There is potential for a salary increase after a 6-month review.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent literacy and numeracy required.
• 2+ years warehouse experience with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
• Manual Handling Certification mandatory.
• Leadership training provided for new leaders.
• ILM Level 2/3 leadership qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the Distribution Centre following safety procedures.
• Allocate daily tasks and priorities for the team.
• Monitor KPIs like accuracy and timeliness.
• Act as first escalation point for operational issues.
• Conduct on-the-job training and inductions.
• Provide feedback and support to team development.
• Communicate updates and expectations clearly.
• Support Warehouse Manager in performance reviews.
• Serve as First Aider and Fire Warden (training provided).
