Job summary

Monkhouse is a leading schoolwear retailer based in Paddock Wood, Kent. We are seeking a warehouse operative to support daily pick, pack and dispatch activities for online orders and store deliveries.

Beneficial attributes include numeracy, basic Microsoft Office, and strong attention to detail. You will work within a safety-conscious team, operating across a structured timetable with occasional Saturday shifts and peak-season flexibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in a warehouse or online dispatch facility.
• Good numeracy and basic Microsoft Office skills; training provided on WM systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and clear communication.
• Adhere to and promote warehouse safety practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Daily pick, pack, and dispatch online orders to stores.
• Follow goods in processes and maintain stock accuracy.
• Follow health and safety rules when handling goods.
• Adhere to procedures, rules, and schedules.
• Assist with warehouse inventory controls using a handheld scanner.
• Treat merchandise with care and transfer stock when needed.
• Work at height and move stock between locations.

Job description

Monkhouse Schoolwear Specialists established in 1938 is one of the country’s largest multi-channel retailers of school uniforms and is part of Banner Ltd the largest manufacturer of school uniforms.

To be successful in applying for the job you will need:

• A minimum of 6months of experience working within a warehouse and online dispatch facility.

• Good numeracy skills.

• Basic Microsoft Office skills, with training provided on all warehouse management systems.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Adhere to and promotewarehouse safety practices.

• Effective communication skills.

Your day to day tasks will look like this:

• Daily pick, pack, and dispatch online orders and deliver to stores.

• Follow goods in processes.

• Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods.

• Ahere to operational procedures, rules, and schedules.

• Assisting with warehouse inventory controls, which typically involves using a hand-held scanner.

• Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times.

• Working at height and transferring stock from one location to another.

What are my hours?

This is a 40 hours a week, working on a monthly rota system working across Monday to Friday from8am to 8pm, with occasional support required on a Saturday.

During our peak season (June to September), we require some flexibility to support additional hours depending on the business's needs.
