Job summary

Monkhouse Limited is seeking a customer-focused team member for a 15-hour-per-week retail role in Solihull. You will assist customers with schoolwear, handle till payments, and help keep the shop tidy and stocked. Training is provided and you will buddy up with an experienced colleague to support your first weeks.

Role involves stock checking, delivery checks and occasional phone inquiries. Working days vary and include Mon–Sat; peak periods may extend hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers by ensuring correct sizes, colours and uniforms.
• Operate the till, take payments and wrap purchases.
• Maintain shop and stock room, including cleaning and tidying.
• Check deliveries and log stock into the stock control system.
• Unpack stock and replenish shop displays; answer phone queries.

Now let's take you through what you will be doing. We will give you full training on every job and buddy you up with an experienced colleague to support you through your first few weeks.

• Serving customers by ensuring they have the right sizes, colours, and uniforms required for their child.


• Working on the cash till, by taking payment and packaging customer purchases.


• Tidying up the shop and stock room, including hoovering and dusting.


• Checking deliveries and booking stock into our stock control system.


• Unpacking stock from deliveries and restocking products in the shop.


• Answering the telephone with customer queries.

Roles that involve direct contact with schools will require an enhanced background check (including criminal record history) as part of our standard hiring procedure.

Our location:

We are located in Solihull with good transport links.

Your working days and hours:

This is a 15 hour aper week role.

Actual days of work are to be agreed upon and will be across Monday to Saturday and will vary from week to week. During our off peak season (October to June) we are closed on a Tuesday and Sunday.

During our peak season (July to September), there is the option to uplift your hours and you will need to be available intermittently on Sundays.
