Job summary

Oxford Knight in London is seeking a Python/Go Engineer to join a small team that expands the exchange trading development group. You’ll manage a global network and hundreds of servers across ~50 sites, bridging datacentre support and development to implement solutions from first principles.

You should enjoy automation, network technology, and distributed computing, with a proactive approach to reducing manual work and scripting where beneficial.

Qualifications

• Excellent programming skills in your preferred language(s). They use Go, Python and Rust where appropriate but prior knowledge is not expected.
• Sound understanding of datacentres and the hardware inside them – servers, switches, etc.
• Demonstrable knowledge of network routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, PIM, IGMP).

Responsibilities

• Based in London, expand the exchange trading development group, taking trading ideas from the Quant Research team and turning them into reality using the best technology.
• Manage a global network and hundreds of servers across almost 50 sites, interfacing between datacentre support and main development.
• Automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work or ad-hoc scripting by applying strong programming and network knowledge.
