Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a highly experienced software engineer to join the Intent Management team within Foundational Engineering. You will own the technical coherence of globally distributed platforms, translating edge and control-plane needs into robust primitives and architecture.

You will move between writing production code, designing new systems, and reviewing proposals from senior engineers, with opportunities to mentor others.

Qualifications

• Experience working with top tier LLMs to plan, write, test, and deploy software.
• Knowledge of API design standards, patterns and best practices.
• Strong track record of technical leadership and influence without direct authority across multiple teams.
• Expert in at least one modern strongly-typed programming language.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience leading complex initiatives.
• Experience designing, building and managing high-volume, globally scaled applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a bias toward action.
• Experience with scaling and simplifying high-scale Configuration Management systems.
• Familiarity with Google’s Prodspec and Annealing systems.
• Experience with RocksDB or similar data stores.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with health checking and probe platforms at significant scale.
• Public evidence of technical leadership (conference talks, blogs, open source) widely adopted by the community.
