Job summary

Cohens Chemist in Heysham is seeking a 40 hour Dispensing Technician to join a well-established dispensing team. You will handle receiving, assembling and dispensing prescriptions, advising customers on medicines and care options, and supporting the branch with new services.

The role requires NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and GPhC registration, plus a passion for high-quality customer care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ/QCF Level 3 equivalent qualification in Pharmacy Services.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Capable of providing an efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service to customers.
• Able to coach others within the dispensing team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assemble and dispense prescriptions.
• Advise customers on medicines or care needs where appropriate.
• Deal with complex medication enquiries under supervision of a pharmacist.

12012 – 40 hour Dispensing Technician – Permanent Contract

We are looking to recruit a 40 hour Dispensing Technician to work at our 477 branch located at Heysham Primary Care Centre, Middleton Way, Heysham, Morecombe, LA3 2LE.

Shift Pattern

• Monday 09:00 - 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
• Tuesday 09:00 - 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
• Wednesday 09:00 - 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
• Thursday 09:00 - 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
• Friday 09:00 - 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch break)

As a Dispensing Technician you will have successfully completed the NVQ/QCF Level 3 equivalent qualification in Pharmacy Services and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will have the knowledge and experience to be a multi skilled Dispensing Technician, taking responsible for providing an efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service to our customers, with specific responsibility for carrying out dispensing duties.

You will be a senior member of the dispensing team and will be responsible for receiving, assembling and dispensing prescriptions, advising customers on alternative medicine or care needs where appropriate. You will also have specific accountability for dealing with complex medication enquires on behalf of and under the supervision of a pharmacist.

As a trusted healthcare professional, you will be friendly, organised and customer focused with a real passion for people and pharmacy operations. Skills in planning, attention to detail and working under pressure are all key in this position.

The successful candidate must be willing to support the branch by promoting new services and products as required.

You must be confident to build customer relationships and have the ability to establish their needs. You will be expected to provide friendly advice, whist having excellent product knowledge and services. You must also have the drive and enthusiasm to want to coach others to do the same.

The utmost attention to detail is required in this role along with the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

The successful candidate must have great people skills as this is paramount to your role. You will be required to work as part of a well-established team and ensure our customers receive a high standard of service.
