Inspired Recruitment Group in Dunstable seeks a qualified Dispensing Optician for a busy high-street practice. You will dispense across all levels, provide adjustments and aftercare, and support busy clinics while delivering excellent patient care.

The role suits new qualifiers or experienced DOs seeking a sociable, well-organised environment with strong training and development opportunities. 5 days, DOE salary, normal weekend work.

Dispensing Optician – Dunstable
30,000 – 35,000 DOE | 5 Days | Established & Supportive Team | Progression Opportunities

At Inspired Recruitment Group, we’re working with a busy, well-established optical practice in Dunstable looking for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join their team.

This could suit either a newly qualified DO looking for the right environment to build their confidence, or an experienced Dispensing Optician who wants to join a sociable, well‑organised practice where there is plenty of support around them.

The Opportunity

You’ll be joining a large practice with a team of around 20 people, including several experienced Dispensing Opticians and a strong management structure.
It’s a busy environment, but importantly, not one where staff are expected to feel rushed or under constant pressure. The team is well organised, supportive and works together to keep things running smoothly.

The practice is also undergoing investment and refurbishment, including improvements across the store and an expansion of its audiology facilities.

The Role

As Dispensing Optician, you’ll be a key part of the shop floor team, with responsibilities including:

• ” Dispensing across all levels, including multifocals
• ” Providing adjustments, repairs and aftercare
• ” Supporting the smooth running of busy clinics
• ” Delivering excellent patient care and resolving queries confidently
• ” Supporting and sharing knowledge with less experienced team members
• ” Working closely with the wider clinical and management team

They’re looking for someone who is calm, approachable and confident using their own initiative – someone who will try to find a solution rather than immediately passing a problem on.

About You

You’ll need to be a GOC‑registered Dispensing Optician, but they are very open on level of experience.

You could be newly qualified and looking for a supportive first role, or already have several years behind you and simply want a good team and practice to become part of.

The Practice

This is a sizeable high‑street practice with multiple testing rooms and around 55 eye examinations taking place each day.

The team is predominantly in their 20s and 30s and has a genuinely sociable feel, with regular events including bowling and Christmas parties. There has also been a real focus on creating a positive, clique‑free culture where everyone supports one another.
