Experienced Dispensing Optician / Optical Assistant

Independent Boutique Practice | Up to 36,000 DO / 29,000 OA | Full Time

The Opportunity

We’re working with a busy, boutique independent practice near Harrow looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant to join their small, close-knit team on a long-term basis.
This isn’t a large multiple where you’re simply another member of a big team. The practice has built a loyal patient base, is currently booked around two weeks in advance and prides itself on providing a personal, high-quality service.

They’re looking for someone friendly, bubbly and personable who enjoys building relationships with patients and is happy getting involved across different areas of the practice.

The Practice

This is a modern, well-run independent with a boutique feel and a strong focus on quality eyewear and patient care.

This practice has one testing room and benefits from excellent clinical and dispensing technology, including:

• OCT and Optomap
• Visi-Office
• OPTIX practice management system
• Essilor lenses
• Premium and boutique frame ranges including Ray-Ban, Prada, Gucci and Wolf
• Free parking available at the rear of the practice

The Team

You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where everyone works closely together and there is plenty of opportunity to get involved.

The atmosphere is professional but relaxed, and they’re looking for someone who will become a genuine long-term part of the practice rather than simply filling a position.

The team also enjoys social events together, including their annual Christmas celebrations.

The Role

This will be a varied position and could suit either an experienced Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant.

Day to day, you’ll be involved with:

• Dispensing across a range of lenses and frames
• Adjustments and repairs
• Pre-screening
• Supporting patients throughout their journey
• Using the OPTIX system
• Working with frame representatives and assisting with frame buying
• General support across the practice
• Some laboratory work, including remote edging and assembling spectacles

Previous lab experience would be a real advantage but isn’t essential.

About You

Personality and experience are really important for this practice.

You’ll ideally be:

• An experienced Dispensing Optician or Optical Assistant
• Confident with dispensing and adjustments
• Friendly, bubbly and personable
• Professional and presentable
• Comfortable working within a small independent team
• Someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know their patients
• Looking for a stable, long-term opportunity

They would also consider a Trainee Dispensing Optician or Pre-Reg DO with the right experience and attitude.

Salary & Benefits

Dispensing Optician – up to 36,000
Optical Assistant – up to 29,000

You’ll also receive:
