Job summary

Superdrug Carlisle is inviting applications for a 24-hour-per-week role, Thursday to Saturday, as a Dispenser or Trainee Pharmacy Assistant. The position is a 12-month maternity contract starting 4 January 2027, offering development support for those both qualified or new to pharmacy.

Salary is £13.80 per hour for Dispenser or up to £13.00 per hour for Trainee, with extensive benefits including holiday entitlement, discounts, and health services access across the UK.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing (or equivalent) required or keen interest to start as trainee
• Ability to work on the pharmacy counter and dispensary
• Customer service focus and willingness to learn

We welcome applications from qualified Dispensers and those with no pharmacy experience who are eager to begin their career as a Trainee Pharmacy Assistant.

Location: Carlisle

Hours: 24 hours per week working Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Salary: £13.80 Per hour (Dispenser) / Up to £13.00 per hour (Trainee pharmacy assistant)

Please note this is a 12 month Maternity Contract, to start from 4th January 2027

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the pharmacy team with counter sales and stock replenishment
• Delivering exceptional service across both the pharmacy counter and dispensary
• Ensuring customers and patients are served with care, efficiency, and professionalism
• Maintaining high standards of presentation and merchandising

We’re Looking For

• Either NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing (or equivalent) OR a keen interest in healthcare to begin your pharmacy career with us as a trainee pharmacy assistant.
• No prior experience required - just a passion for healthcare and customer service
• A friendly, positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well in a team or independently
• Confidence to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Passionate about learning and open to training in additional services
