Hamstreet Surgery in Ashford is seeking a motivated and experienced Dispensary Manager to lead our friendly dispensary team and ensure smooth, patient-focused service.

You will oversee daily operations, rostering, stock control, and compliance with NHS dispensing regulations, while supporting audits and continuous improvement. We offer a competitive salary package dependent on experience with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 qualified in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• Experienced in dispensing.
• Organised, motivated and confident leading a team.
• A strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
• An excellent communicator, computer literate.
• Compassionate, caring and patient-focused.
• Committed to high standards of medicines safety and governance.

Responsibilities

• Leading, supporting and developing the dispensary team.
• Managing rotas, staffing and cover.
• Ensuring safe and timely dispensing of medicines.
• Managing stock, ordering, expiry dates and wastage.
• Overseeing controlled drugs and associated records.
• Supporting the financial performance of the dispensary.
• Ensuring compliance with NHS dispensing regulations, legislation and practice policies.
• Maintaining and reviewing SOPs.
• Managing near misses, dispensing errors and significant events.
• Supporting audits, governance and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring staff training and competencies remain up to date.
• Supervisory or management experience is desirable; progression from dispenser welcome.
