Job summary

Pulse is seeking an experienced Band 6 Pharmacy Technician to join the Dispensary team in South London as Deputy Dispensary Manager. You will support day-to-day dispensary operations within a specialist mental health setting, working closely with the Dispensary Manager and pharmacy team.

The role focuses on medicines optimisation, service development, staff supervision, and ensuring safe, timely dispensing in line with Trust policies, with opportunities to lead projects and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration as Pharmacy Technician.
• Extensive post-qualification hospital dispensary experience.
• Supervisory/management qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in Mental Health pharmacy services.
• Experience undertaking medicines reconciliation.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the operational management of the hospital dispensary service.
• Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians, assistants, and support staff.
• Ensure the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medicines in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
• Undertake and support medicines reconciliation activities to enhance patient safety.
• Assist with workforce planning, staff training, and competency assessments.
• Contribute to audit, service improvement, and specialist pharmacy projects.
• Monitor compliance with medicines legislation, governance requirements, and departmental standards.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality patient care.
