Job summary

Ultimate Recruitment is recruiting a Dispatch Supervisor for a busy client in Coventry. Location is Ryton CV8 3ED with day and night shifts. Salary is paid hourly: Days £15.04, Nights £15.54, with a pension and other benefits.

The role requires supervising dispatch operations, coordinating with drivers and warehouse teams, and ensuring on-time departures and accurate records. Suitable candidates will have transport/logistics experience and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working within a transport office environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is desirable.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good IT and administration skills.
• Previous experience in dispatch, transport or logistics is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient vehicle departures.
• Monitor dispatch activity and ensure all deliveries and collections are completed within scheduled times.
• Communicate with drivers, warehouse teams and management to resolve operational issues.
• Allocate work and support the dispatch team to maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate dispatch reports and transport documentation.
• Track shipments and ensure all system records are kept up to date.
• Support the Control Tower team with daily planning and operational administration.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety and company procedures.
• Handle incoming calls and emails relating to dispatch and transport queries.
• Deal with real-time operational issues and elevate where necessary.
• Provide guidance and support to Dispatch Clerks and other members of the transport team.
