Job summary

West Midlands Police is seeking a Disclosure Officer to oversee requests where covert assets are used in investigations. The role involves registering requests, reviewing case paperwork, and coordinating with the CPS and prosecutors to ensure timely compliance with disclosure obligations.

The successful candidate will handle sensitive information with integrity, operate to SPF guidelines, and may participate in parole hearings and civil disclosure matters.

Qualifications

• Experience researching and analysing information to inform decisions.
• Ability to produce concise, accurate written reports and data-based conclusions.
• Strong verbal and written communication; articulate and methodical.
• Proven ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Examine and register disclosure requests on the database.
• Review case paperwork to identify material originating from the department.
• Identify relevant Court dates with internal teams and CPS.
• Examine intelligence material and prepare disclosure schedules.
• Liaise with CPS Prosecutor and Disclosure Counsel during cases.
• Manage review of unused material in response to Defence Statements.
• Deliver Disclosure Schedules and Officer Reports within CPS deadlines.
• Attend Case Conferences as required.
• Support staff on disclosure work including parole and civil matters.
• Ensure duties align with office hours but with required flexibility.
