Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering a 9‑month secondment (37.5 hours a week) for a Band 7 Senior Nurse in the Discharge Lounge. The post holder will lead a passionate team, drive safe discharge processes, and provide professional clinical leadership across a multi-disciplinary group.

We are looking for a dynamic, proactive and compassionate leader with excellent communication skills, strong change management ability and robust governance awareness.

Qualifications

• Active registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (Adult)
• Recognised Nursing Degree or equivalent
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Carry overall responsibility for the organisation and management of the department, including supervision of students
• Be professionally accountable for maintenance of standards and professional practice as per NMC Code
• Provide professional clinical leadership within a defined area and direction to the multi-disciplinary team
• Promote a positive, respectful working environment and support staff development
• Lead, manage and develop team performance and budget within the department
