This role involves overseeing trade finance credit activities, fostering collaboration between risk management lines, and supporting growth strategies within the bank.
Role Responsibilities
- Foster collaboration between First and Second Lines of Defence to enhance risk management.
- Bridge the gap between the two lines by supporting Trade & Working Capital growth and ensuring consistent credit risk practices.
- Review and approve new transactions in core trade, open account, and structured trade, providing analysis and operational insights.
- Work with Product teams to ensure data frameworks are robust, analyze portfolio trends, and recommend improvements.
- Implement industry best practices to improve efficiency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
- Represent Credit in governance and approval forums related to Trade products.
- Develop and deliver training programs on Trade and Working Capital to enhance team skills.
- Lead projects for process improvements and operational enhancements.
- Operate in a high-profile environment emphasizing teamwork, trust, and diversity.
- Line manage direct reports and contribute to their career development, coaching colleagues as needed.
Candidate Profile
We seek a candidate with:
- Strong credit experience in Trade Finance covering corporates and financial institutions, including core trade, receivables, payables, inventory finance, and structured trade.
- Knowledge of credit models such as PDs and LGDs.
- Operational understanding of Trade & Working Capital Products.
- Awareness of market and product trends, particularly open account platforms.
- Proven track record in implementing change.
- Sound judgment and decisiveness.
- Advanced analytical skills, both financial and non-financial.
- Expertise in documentary terms.
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- High attention to detail, numeracy, and accuracy.
- Experience in team leadership and line management.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels, including complex risk discussions with senior stakeholders.
