SLR Consulting is seeking a Technical Director specialising in tailings and mine waste to lead and shape major projects within our European region. You will design tailings and waste rock facilities from concept to construction, act as Engineer of Record, and drive business development across a multi-disciplinary team.

We value Chartered status or eligibility, honours in Civil or Mining Engineering, and proven leadership of design-led projects with deep knowledge of GISTM, ANCOLD, and CDA

Qualifications

• Extensive depth of experience and specialisation in tailings and mine waste, preferably gained in a consulting environment.
• Honours degree qualifications in either Civil or Mining Engineering, or an MSc in a related subject.
• Registered Chartered (or equivalent Professional Engineer status), or eligible to register immediately.
• Good working knowledge of mining industry standards such as GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA, etc.
• Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams as the lead designer and project manager on tailing and mine waste related projects, from concept to detailed design.
• Experience of acting as the Engineer of Record and Designer of Record.
• Experience in independent auditing and dam safety reviews.
• Good interpersonal, presentation and report writing skills.
• Sound commercial and business development skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design of tailings and waste rock facilities from concept to construction.
• Act as Engineer of Record for tailings facilities.
• Identify opportunities to win new work and grow the team’s technical capabilities.
• Recruit and develop key talent to strengthen the team and business.
• Collaborate with Mine Waste Engineering teams in other regions to deliver projects.
• Develop client relationships to grow the business globally.
• Publish technical papers and present at conferences to raise visibility.
