Job summary

Vercel is seeking a Director, Solutions Architects to lead our Field Engineering team across Europe. You will build and mentor a team of SAs and managers, shaping technical strategy and customer engagements for web and AI products built on Vercel, Next.js, and our stack.

You will report to the VP of Field Engineering and collaborate closely with Sales leadership to win new business and expand existing accounts. This hybrid role requires three days onsite weekly in London or Berlin.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Solutions Architect, sales engineering, or pre-sales, with ≥5 in leadership.
• Strong background in JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, APIs, cloud infra.
• Proven ability to lead and scale technical teams in high-growth env.
• Experience with enterprise/commercial customers across industries.
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps in modern workflows.
• Collaborates with Sales, Product, Engineering to drive customer success.

About the role:

We are looking for a Director, Solutions Architects to join our Field Engineering organization. You\'ll be responsible for building and leading our team of Solutions Architects and Managers across Europe, helping customers ship incredible web and AI products using Vercel, Next.js, and our agentic infrastructure stack. You will drive technical excellence, mentor the team, and partner closely with sales leadership to win new business and expand existing accounts. You will report to the VP of Field Engineering.

This is a hybrid role based in Vercel\'s London or Berlin office, with a required three days per week onsite.

What you will do:

About you:

• 10+ years of experience in Solutions Architect, Sales Engineering, or Technical Pre-sales roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Strong background in modern web technologies (JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, APIs, cloud infrastructure).
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and scale technical teams in a high-growth environment.
• Demonstrated success working with enterprise and commercial customers across diverse industries.
• Strong understanding of modern software development workflows (CI/CD, DevOps, frontend frameworks, etc).
• Experience collaborating with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to drive customer success.

Bonus if you:

• Have hands-on experience working with Vercel, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks.
• Have led SA teams at a high-growth SaaS or cloud infrastructure company.
• Bring expertise in developer tooling, edge computing, or performance optimization.
• Are comfortable presenting at conferences, webinars, or large-scale customer events.
