Job summary

HSBC Global Services Limited requires a senior leader to head Group Quantum Technologies, directing the strategy for quantum, quantum-inspired and advanced computing across the group. You will shape a governance-driven portfolio, drive PoC-to-production delivery, and align efforts with risk, security and regulatory requirements.

You’ll influence senior stakeholders globally, build a cross-disciplinary team, and ensure scalable, resilient solutions that translate R&D into measurable business

Qualifications

• Expertise in quantum/quantum-inspired algorithms.
• Experience with HPC, GPUs and hybrid architectures.
• Proven track record of moving R&D to deployment in controlled, production environments.

Responsibilities

• Set the Group-wide QAC strategy and roadmap across quantum and advanced computing aligned to HSBC priorities.
• Build and govern a prioritised use-case portfolio with stage-gates and risk controls.
• Oversee delivery from PoC to pilot and production, including sandbox to on-prem progression.
• Define technical direction across quantum and hybrid quantum-classical approaches with reusable standards.
• Embed control-by-design across security, data, model risk and third-party risk with audit-ready docs.
• Partner with business and technology teams to integrate algorithms into robust software with a support model.
• Manage partnerships with vendors, academia and cloud providers and shape commercial arrangements.
• Develop internal capability by managing the global QAC team including hiring and training communities of practice.
