Primis is seeking a Director to lead one of our platform teams (Systems, Network, Identity, or Reliability & Performance). You will be the technical authority, hands-on, and responsible for people, roadmap and results.

You will hire and develop a team, set direction, and own the end-to-end delivery while enabling self-service, API-driven capabilities and rigorous security controls. A fully remote UK/Ireland role, with strong emphasis on PCI DSS/SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading production engineering teams, including hiring and performance management.
• Hands on expertise in systems, network, reliability or identity.
• Strong IaC (Terraform, Ansible) plus secrets management, service discovery, OIDC and observability.
• Public cloud experience (AWS and/or Azure, GCP or OCI).
• Experience running production services in regulated environments (PCI DSS, SOX).
• Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and an understanding of MCP and agents.

Responsabilités

• Leading, hiring and developing a team of platform engineers.
• Setting technical direction and owning your team's architecture and design decisions.
• Turning your area of the estate into self service, API driven capabilities.
• Writing and reviewing code, IaC and designs every week, and going deep in incidents.
• Owning the roadmap, quarterly plans and delivery, measured by tickets eliminated and service levels.
• Making AI assisted engineering the norm across your team.
• Building PCI DSS and SOX controls into the platform with automatic evidence.
