Burns Sheehan Limited is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer for an AI-native SaaS scale‑up. You will shape a real‑time platform, treat the internal platform as a product, and lead across infrastructure, CI/CD, observability and reliability. This is a hands‑on, senior technical leadership role.

You will design scalable systems, own deployment pipelines and mentor engineers, helping teams ship fast, safely and at scale from a UK base with a London hybrid option.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with Go
• Production-ready distributed systems design experience
• Deep cloud infrastructure experience (GCP/AWS)
• Docker and Kubernetes at scale
• Terraform and infrastructure as code
• Observability and monitoring tooling
• SRE mindset with incident response and toil reduction
• Track record of technical leadership and mentoring
• Systems thinking balancing speed and quality
• Clear communication and architectural influence

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve platform infrastructure using Go, Terraform, Kubernetes and GCP
• Design reliable distributed systems for a real-time AI-native SaaS product
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments
• Build automation and internal tooling to reduce manual toil for engineers
• Improve observability across metrics, logging, tracing and production monitoring
• Define and manage SLOs across latency, availability and error rates
• Lead incident response and ship long-term fixes as code
• Mentor engineers and raise platform engineering standards across teams
