Job summary

GSK in Stevenage is seeking a Director of Oncology Translational Medicine, Clinical Biomarkers. This role drives biomarker strategies for late-stage oncology assets, collaborating across a matrix of clinical development disciplines to enable patient stratification and informed decision-making.

The position involves coordinating translational plans, managing biomarker platforms, and guiding evidence generation with real-world data, as the site relocates to Cambridge in early 2029.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent with 7+ years or M.Sc. with 10+ years of drug development experience in oncology biomarkers.
• Strong expertise in cancer biology, and clinical development including landscapes and diagnostics in solid tumours and haematological malignancies.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and designing strategic biomarker plans including regulated assays.
• Experience conducting clinical trials as part of clinical study teams.
• Translational biomarker plans for trials; explores and onboards innovative technologies.
• Experience analyzing high-dimensional data with Data Sciences to guide decisions.

Responsibilities

• Drive design, alignment, and execution of biomarker and translational medicine strategies for late-stage oncology programs.
• Validate and implement biomarker strategies for patient stratification and go/no-go decisions.
• Participate in tumor-specific Biomarker Matrix teams and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
• Represent Translational Medicine in Clinical Development Matrix Teams and integrate biomarker criteria into study designs.
• Define biomarker priorities and generate evidence packages informed by real-world data and partnerships.
• Identify cutting-edge science to guide indication selection and combination strategies.
