Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a Medical Director, Oncology Clinical Development – GI, to join the Stevenage site with a view to relocation to Cambridge. You will lead medical monitoring, safety oversight, and interpretation of complex clinical data within a cross-functional team to ensure patient safety and trial integrity.

The role requires MD or equivalent with oncology training, strong experience in clinical trials, and a proactive, collaborative approach across regulatory and scientific

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical degree with oncology board certification or eligibility
• Demonstrated experience in clinical trial conduct, medical monitoring and safety oversight
• Strong knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines and global regulatory frameworks

Responsibilities

• Lead medical monitoring activities for assigned clinical studies with patient safety as a priority
• Interpret clinical data from a physician perspective to inform decision-making
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate medical considerations into study delivery
• Contribute to protocol development, safety assessments and regulatory submissions
• Engage with investigators and external experts to support study conduct and scientific exchange
• Provide medical input into clinical data generation and study documentation
