Job summary

JP Morgan Chase is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to shape the future of digital banking within Asset & Wealth Management IT. Lead scalable, secure client-facing platforms for J.P. Morgan Online International and drive engineering excellence across multiple domains.

You will stay hands-on with design, implementation, and code reviews while building a high-performing team and influencing enterprise technology decisions. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience.
Strong hands-on experience building and operating scalable client-facing applications with Java/JVM.
Experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists and coaching talent.
Experience adopting AI-enabled engineering practices using enterprise tools.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data security, resiliency and governance.
Practical cloud-native experience including automated delivery, testing, observability and stability.
Public GitHub repositories or open-source contributions with demonstrable code decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead technology and process implementations to deliver scalable, secure client-facing digital banking capabilities.
Remain hands-on in design, implementation, and code review of critical initiatives.
Set direction for AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation within your area.
Promote reusable capabilities and pragmatic architecture across domains.
Influence senior stakeholders translating client needs into engineering priorities.
Develop and recognize engineering talent and foster a culture of learning.
