Job summary

Greenshaw Learning Trust is seeking a visionary Director of Secondary Education. Reporting to the Executive Director of Education, you will lead the Trust’s secondary schools and drive ambitious educational standards.

The role requires coaching and developing Headteachers, collaborating across phases, and championing vulnerable children. It is a permanent, full‑time, hybrid position with a 1 January 2027 start and regular travel between GLT hubs.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of executive or senior leadership in secondary schools.
• Evidence of sustained school improvement and strong KS4 and post-16 outcomes.
• Experience in line managing, coaching, developing Headteachers and senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and drive educational standards across GLT Secondary schools.
• Line managing and developing Secondary Assistant Directors and Headteachers, using a coaching approach to build capacity.
• Partnering actively with cross-phase improvement leads to break down silos and deliver joint initiatives across Primary, Secondary, and Special schools.
• Championing vulnerable children in all aspects of their educational experience.
• Ensuring schools implement effective instructional coaching, disruption-free classroom management, and robust Raising Standards programmes.
