Job summary

Vertical Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Director-level Quantity Surveyor for a major UK North West consultancy. You will lead high‑profile commissions, shape regional growth and stay closely involved in delivery, mentoring teams and developing client relationships.

The role requires substantial QS and commercial leadership experience across infrastructure sectors, NEC3/NEC4 knowledge and an MRICS or equivalent qualification.

Qualifications

• Significant Quantity Surveying and commercial management experience.
• Experience operating at Associate Director or Director level.
• Strong client relationship and business development capability.
• Background across infrastructure, utilities, energy, nuclear, industrial or process sectors.
• Excellent NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing commercial teams.
• MRICS or another relevant professional qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead major Quantity Surveying and commercial management commissions from a strategic and delivery perspective.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key infrastructure, utilities, energy and nuclear clients.
• Identify new opportunities, support business development and contribute to regional growth.
• Lead, mentor and develop high‑performing commercial teams.
• Oversee commercial performance, fee management and profitability across commissions.
• Provide senior commercial advice across complex NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
• Maintain strong standards of governance, risk management and project delivery.
• Contribute to wider business planning and long‑term strategic direction.
