Are you an experienced Operations Director/Senior Manager from the security industry looking to join the senior leadership team of a well established and fast growing services business?

As Director of Operations, you will lead the operational strategy, service delivery, and performance of all security services across multiple client sites. You'll ensure the consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality services while driving growth, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Role and responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead the delivery of all security operations, including manned guarding, mobile patrols, key holding, and event security, ensuring exceptional service delivery across all contracts.
  • Implement robust operational systems for reporting, scheduling, incident management, and compliance tracking.
  • Monitor and audit service delivery to ensure consistent adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and industry standards.
  • Manage contract mobilisations, ensuring seamless transition and operational readiness from day one.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Define and deliver operational strategies aligned with business objectives and future growth plans.
  • Support business development by contributing operational insight to bids, tenders, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive innovation and service improvement through process optimisation and adoption of new technologies.

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Take ownership of operational budgets and contract-level P&L performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies without compromising service standards.
  • Track financial performance and implement corrective action where needed to meet targets.

People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate, and manage regional and site-based operational teams.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management processes across operations.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development to future-proof the organisation.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, ensuring strong relationships and high satisfaction levels.
  • Conduct regular contract reviews and performance meetings with clients, addressing any concerns proactively.
  • Ensure a client-focused service culture is embedded throughout the operational teams.

Compliance, Risk & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure full compliance with SIA licensing, health & safety regulations, GDPR, and company policies.
  • Oversee audits, investigations, and risk assessments, implementing actions to address findings.
  • Uphold ISO accreditations and support the continuous improvement of quality management systems.

Technology & Innovation

  • Champion the adoption of digital tools and smart technologies in operational delivery.
  • Evaluate and implement workforce management platforms, real-time reporting systems, and modern access control solutions.
  • Lead pilot initiatives and technology rollouts that enhance efficiency and client value.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience within the FM industry
  • Knowledge and experience of selling Security and Cleaning solutions
  • New business focus, with the ability to to identify new opportunities, and create cross selling opportunities
  • Promote the business as the 'supplier of choice' within your market sector
  • Commercially minded, with an in depth understanding of contract pricing models and operating costs
  • You will have a proven track record in both new business sales and client relationship management.
  • Experience managing tender processes, including writing and submitting bid proposals
