Job summary

Tide is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead the KYX engineering organization (KYC/KYB). You will own the strategy, structure and delivery across onboarding, continuous KYX and scoring/ML, coordinating backend, frontend, data science and ML across multiple global hubs.

You will scale agentic AI in regulated workflows, drive higher automated decisions and improve screening quality while reducing per-member cost, aligning with Tide's governance framework and risk appetite.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering organisations in regulated domains such as financial services or risk.
• Track record of turning platform investments into measurable outcomes: conversion, efficiency and cost per member.
• Experience taking machine learning from development into production at scale and owning model performance.
• Experience operating in regulated environments with risk, policy and compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the KYX engineering strategy and organisation across Onboarding, Continuous KYX and Scoring & ML.
• Lead engineering across backend, frontend, data science and ML teams across multiple hubs.
• Own KYX Scoring & ML as a shared capability for onboarding and ongoing decisioning.
• Scale agentic AI within regulated workflows with governance and oversight.
• Collaborate with KYX Ops, KYX Policy, Second Line of Defence and Product across markets.
• Deliver measurable outcomes: higher automation rates and better due diligence quality.
• Build software once, deploy globally with market-specific logic isolated.
