Job summary

Funding Circle in London is seeking a Head of Product & Engineering Operations to design, install, and run the engine across product, engineering and design. You will help transform work into one unified, high‑performing build process.

This role owns the ‘how’ we build, shaping the operating model and driving leaders to run it, with influence from the CTO downward and a focus on the AI-native lifecycle program in motion.

Qualifications

• Builder with proven experience scaling Product Development Lifecycles inside complex product organisations.
• Strong background across Product Management, Engineering, and Design with credibility to challenge leadership.
• Ability to redesign departmental workflows and use AI to build great products (Claude Code, Codex or similar).
• Confidence to hold MDs, VPs, and senior directors accountable for continuous improvements.
• Understanding of regulated environments; bonus if worked with Risk and Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and run core builders leadership rituals, cross-line product reviews, calibration sessions, and go/no-go release gates.
• Partner with VP Product, VP Engineering, and Design Leadership to raise the bar on what and how we build.
• Pilot new frameworks quickly, hand off to squad leads, ensure lasting habits.
• Embed AI-driven build tools and automated workflows across Product, Engineering and Design.
• Convene leadership to continuously improve how we build great products at Funding Circle.
• Integrate regulatory and compliance checks into the core delivery path without slowing shipment.
