South of Scotland Enterprise or SOSE for short—has been set up to bring a fresh and regionally-focussed approach to economic and community development in and for the South of Scotland. Covering Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders, our focus as a public body is to help people, communities and enterprises to transform the economy of the South of Scotland, driving its capability for innovation and shaping future economic growth and wellbeing.
SOSE is a non-departmental public body set up by Scottish Government which harnesses natural capital, investment, innovation and entrepreneurial talent to seize the opportunities ahead and create the rural economic powerhouse we know the South of Scotland can be. SOSE's role includes working, supporting and collaborating on innovative, sector‑leading projects, which bring research, industry, and enterprise together, to drive sustainability, productivity, and economic growth.
We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial Director of Delivery, Enterprise and Innovation to lead the delivery of projects. A visionary, you will provide leadership to the team whilst delivering truly innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to the long‑term growth of the green economy, jobs and skills within the South of Scotland.
The successful candidate must understand how to build strong positive relationships with the staff and understand and value them to ensure they deliver.
We are looking for an exceptional individual with a proven track record of inspirational commercial leadership in sectors that are transferable to the rural economy, with the gravitas and diplomacy to communicate effectively with industry leaders, government, communities, SMEs and academics, across Scotland, within the United Kingdom and internationally. Above all, you will be passionate about the future wellbeing of our region: the environment, businesses and communities that make it unique.
