Axle Informatics is a bioscience and information technology company accelerating biomedical discovery through data science and software engineering. We are seeking an Associate Director of Data and Modeling to lead teams across data engineering, AI/ML, scientific computing, and modeling to build reusable capabilities for researchers.

You will design durable data products, establish technical standards, and partner with scientists and security teams to deliver reliable systems that advance

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in software, data, or computational sciences.
• Five or more years leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating production-grade data, AI/ML, software, or scientific computing systems.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for data platforms, AI/ML systems, scientific computing environments, and modeling capabilities.
• Guide the design and operation of data systems that ingest, transform, harmonize, and serve large datasets.
• Lead development of AI/ML capabilities delivering measurable scientific or operational value.
• Build a sustainable modeling and simulation practice with versioned inputs/environments.
• Strengthen engineering practices around testing, CI/CD, containerization, observability, and release management.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, establish standards, and mentor technical leaders.
