Job summary

AstraZeneca in Cambridge seeks a Senior Director to lead AI-ready data preparation at scale, shaping data foundations, tooling, governance and processes for enterprise AI, analytics and ML initiatives across geographies. You will drive reusable, self-service data products and DataOps practices to accelerate insights while ensuring compliance.

This role leads onshore and offshore engineering teams, partners with security and data governance, and designs end-to-end pipelines (ingest to provision)

Qualifications

• Extensive data engineering leadership delivering production-grade data products.
• Data product and DataOps expertise with CI/CD for data and metadata pipelines.
• Batch/streaming integration and scalable cloud storage experience.
• Security controls and data obfuscation in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution for AI-ready data preparation across use cases.
• Build, own, and operate enterprise data products for AI/ML and analytics.
• Implement DataOps practices and self-serve data discovery, access and provisioning.
• Design and run end-to-end data pipelines with scalable orchestration and cost optimisation.
