Job summary

Mattinson Partnership in London seeks an experienced Director of Building Surveying with a strong dilapidations background to lead and grow a specialist service line. You will handle high-profile instructions across the commercial property market, while remaining hands-on and delivering technically robust advice.

You will manage client relationships, develop new business opportunities and contribute to strategic plans, with a focus on growth, profitability and industry leadership.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Building Surveying with dilapidations.
• Strong understanding of the commercial property market.
• Established network to generate new business and introductions.
• Experience managing client relationships and winning instructions.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering against financial targets.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate at senior level with investors, owners, developers and occupiers.
• Proactive and entrepreneurial approach to business development.
• Ability to manage multiple instructions and prioritise effectively.
• Commitment to technical quality, best practice and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the dilapidations service line and drive growth.
• Deliver high-quality, technically robust dilapidations advice for commercial clients.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and pursue new business opportunities.
• Contribute to the service line’s strategic and commercial business plan.
• Identify opportunities to expand services for clients and prospects.
• Lead business development, marketing and networking in the dilapidations market.
• Support the development and performance of the technical team.
• Champion quality standards and consistent project delivery.
• Improve processes, templates and ways of working.
• Collaborate across disciplines for integrated client solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date market knowledge and identify trends.
• Contribute to industry thought leadership and marketing.
• Manage workload with high standards of client service and delivery.
