Join an award-winning team at the heart of UK government, where your work will genuinely shape lives. Together, we use behaviour change principles to design smarter services, influence better decisions, and help millions of people across the country.

Named WPP 650, after the 650 UK parliamentary constituencies, the name is a reminder that our work must reflect the full breadth of the country, every community, every audience. No two days are the same. The challenges are complex, the problems worth solving, and the learning constant. You’ll tackle issues that matter, alongside talented colleagues who care deeply about what they do. It’s demanding – but always rewarding.

This is meaningful work with real-world impact – the kind you can point to with pride.

About the Opportunity:

As an Account Director (Influencer), you will lead the day-to-day management and strategic development of the UK GOV influencer activations account, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and impactful creator marketing campaigns. You’ll work closely with internal specialist teams, external partners, and client stakeholders to shape and execute campaigns that meet both communication objectives and the standards expected within a highly regulated environment. In this role you will be working as part of Goat, WPP Media’s influencer solution, helping global brands harness the power of social and creator-led content to deliver measurable impact.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded account leader with strong client relationship skills, experience navigating complex stakeholder environments, and a solid understanding of working within regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the senior point of contact for the UK GOV account, building trusted relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and delivery of influencer and social campaigns that align with client objectives, policy considerations, and approval processes.
  • Oversee campaign execution from brief through to delivery, ensuring work is compliant, strategically sound, and delivered to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to shape integrated solutions, manage timelines, and maintain operational excellence.
  • Monitor campaign performance and use insight to inform optimisation, reporting, and future recommendations.
  • Manage and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the account through strategic thinking, innovation, and proactive client counsel.
  • Navigate complex approval structures and stakeholder environments with confidence and professionalism.
Role Requirements:
  • 5 years’ experience in a client-facing role within an advertising, media, or digital marketing agency.
  • Proven experience managing accounts in regulated industries, such as government, public sector, financial services, healthcare, utilities, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of influencer marketing, social media strategy, and campaign management.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and navigating complex approval processes.
  • Confident communicator with excellent presentation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance client needs, compliance, and delivery excellence.
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong attention to detail.
