Job summary

Manchester City Council is seeking an Inclusion and Intervention Specialist to lead the Direction Room, a pastoral provision supporting pupils to reflect on choices, rebuild relationships and re-engage with learning.

The post is permanent, full-time (35 hours per week), starting 5 October 2026, and requires GCSEs. You will work with senior leaders, families and external agencies to deliver targeted interventions and help every young person succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with students with behavioural, emotional or pastoral needs.
• Excellent ICT, oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organised, flexible, conscientious and have a can-do approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Direction Room on a day-to-day basis.
• Deliver targeted behavioural and pastoral interventions.
• Collaborate with senior leaders, pastoral teams, families and external agencies.
• Support students to reflect on choices and re-engage with learning.
