Tasty Crousty is looking for an entrepreneurial, hands‑on Restaurant General Manager to lead our London restaurant and help establish our brand in the UK.

Located close to a university, the restaurant offers significant potential to build a strong local following. We are looking for someone who can turn that potential into sustainable growth through excellent operations, outstanding customer service and proactive local marketing.

This role goes beyond day-to-day restaurant management. You will take ownership of the restaurant’s operations, team, commercial performance and profitability, with the opportunity to help shape our future UK development.

Your responsibilities

Restaurant operations and customer experience

• Lead daily operations, ensuring efficient service, consistent product quality and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Build a strong service culture and ensure every customer enjoys the Tasty Crousty experience.
• Identify and resolve operational and quality issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements, alongside our brand standards and operating procedures.

Commercial growth and local marketing

• Grow sales by actively engaging with the local community, particularly university students and staff.
• Develop relationships with university societies, local businesses and other relevant partners.
• Propose and deliver local marketing initiatives that increase awareness, footfall and repeat visits.
• Track results and adapt your approach to improve commercial performance.

Team leadership

• Recruit, train and develop a motivated, customer-focused team.
• Set clear expectations, organise rotas and manage team performance.
• Lead by example on the restaurant floor and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Suppliers and menu development

• Manage supplier relationships, stock availability and purchasing costs.
• Identify opportunities to source better products at more competitive prices while maintaining quality and brand standards.
• Proactively propose new sides and complementary menu items suited to the UK market, subject to head-office approval.

Financial performance

• Take full ownership of the restaurant’s profit and loss account (P&L).
• Monitor sales, labour costs, food costs, waste and margins.
• Turn performance data into practical action plans that improve profitability.

What we are looking for

• Proven management experience in quick-service restaurants (QSR) or the wider food and beverage sector.
• A strong track record of leading teams, improving operations and delivering commercial results.
• Confidence managing a restaurant P&L and controlling costs.
• A good understanding of the UK restaurant market and customer expectations.
• Strong recruitment, training and people management skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach: you spot opportunities and take ownership of making them happen.
• A hands‑on leadership style and the ability to balance daily service with longer‑term priorities.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Experience growing a new restaurant brand, improving an existing operation or building a student customer base would be particularly valuable.
