Job summary

Forestry England is seeking a Forest Works Supervisor at Fineshade, Corby (NN17 3BB) to lead on-beat forest management, restocking and timber harvesting. You will coordinate contractors to deliver work safely, on time and to high quality standards, in a team environment.

The role is full-time, permanent, 37 hours per week, with a salary of £30,105 and a commitment to staff development and welfare benefits.

  • Support the beat forester in all aspects of forest management on the beat, including restocking and timber harvesting.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors to complete works to high health & safety and quality standards, ensuring targets are met within deadlines.
  • Work closely with a team to solve problems and manage challenges, while being self-motivated and able to work independently when required.

What you’ll do…

You will support the beat forester in all aspects of forest management on the beat, this includes restocking and timber harvesting. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating contractors to complete works to a high health & safety and quality standard, ensuring targets are met within a given time frame. You should be able to work closely with a team to solve problems and manage challenges that may arise throughout the process. You will be self-motivated and be able to work on your own when required.
