East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Direct Payment Worker to support a male 8-year-old child in Bridlington. The role is part-time (4 h/w in term time and 8 h/w in school holidays) and involves helping the child access activities and spend time in the community.

You will transport the child to social activities, encourage social interaction and provide emotional support within a 2:1 care arrangement. DBS checks will be required and cost met by the council.

This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

4 hours per week during term time and 8 hours per week in the school holidays.

About the recipient

The individual is male, 8 years old and resides in Bridlington. They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them due to having Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Non-verbal communication. Requires 24/7 supervision.

They enjoy activities involving movement, water play, music, TV/iPad, Fireman Sam and consistent routine.

They don't like wearing shoes, putting clothes back on after a change. They don't like walking; they prefer to be carried. They struggle with change in routine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Children and Young People, Specialist Services Direct Payments is an in-house service provided by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to support families of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to fulfil their potential and aspirations.

Whilst caring experience is always useful, you don\'t necessarily need to have worked in care to be a great Direct Payment Worker, the right attitude and a person-centred approach is more important.

Travel

Some travel across East Riding of Yorkshire may be required, applicants must be able to transport themselves.
