Job summary

Oxfordshire County Council’s Direct Payment Advice Team seeks two Direct Payment Advisors to support adults and families in Oxfordshire to access and manage Direct Payments. One permanent and one fixed-term position until 31 March 2027.

You will provide information, advice and guidance to adults and parents of children with identified needs, enabling them to understand and manage Direct Payments to meet assessed care needs. Travel across Oxfordshire is required.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to explain complex information clearly.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage workload and competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel across Oxfordshire with a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality information and guidance to Direct Payment recipients, carers and families.
• Respond to queries effectively and in a timely manner.
• Support the set-up and ongoing management of Direct Payments.
• Advise on responsibilities when employing a Personal Assistant.
• Collaborate with social care colleagues and external partners to promote Direct Payments.
