Job summary

Digital Catapult is seeking a Lead Technology Specialist with Digital Twins expertise to guide a diverse team of technical experts, engineers and innovation managers in delivering Digital Twin projects across maritime, aerospace and heritage sectors. You will drive adoption of Digital Twin technologies in industry while ensuring high-quality technical delivery.

You will lead delivery without direct line management, influence staffing and resource allocation, and contribute to strategy

Qualifications

• Hands on experience developing Digital Twins for use in an operational environment.
• Proven track record of leading technical teams in complex projects or products.
• Deep knowledge of Digital Twin methodologies and enabling technologies (IoT, edge computing, simulation, visualisation, data analytics).
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders translating evolving needs into technical requirements and deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication, reports, demonstrators and coaching for staff development.
• Hands-on coding experience in Python, C/C++, JavaScript, Go or Rust is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical teams to deliver a broad range of Digital Twin projects across sectors.
• Provide expert advice on Digital Twin technologies and approaches.
• Ensure Digital Twins meet stakeholder needs and are technically excellent.
• Assess project staffing requirements and support hiring and resource allocation.
• Support line managers with performance understanding and staff development needs.
• Help shape the technical delivery strategy for Digital Twin adoption.
