Job summary

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is seeking a Digital Transformation Advisor to work with manufacturing clients, identifying and delivering Industry 4.0 solutions that boost productivity and efficiency. The role combines consultancy, stakeholder engagement, and technical insight to drive measurable business value across transformations.

You will apply frameworks, run workshops, and develop roadmaps, supporting pilots and selecting suitable digital systems to enable client success.

Qualifications

• Strong consultancy and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with manufacturing IT/OT architectures (ERP, MES, PLM) is a plus.
• Understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with manufacturing clients to understand their business challenges and identify opportunities where digital technologies can deliver measurable value. You will combine consultancy, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise to support organisations on their digital transformation journeys.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing client needs and identifying opportunities for digital transformation.
• Applying recognised assessment frameworks to evaluate digital maturity and capability.
• Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagements to uncover business improvement opportunities.
• Developing business cases, value propositions, and transformation roadmaps.
• Advising on the selection and implementation of digital and business information systems.
• Supporting pilot projects and proof-of-concept activities to validate solutions.
• Working collaboratively with clients, technology partners, and internal specialists to deliver successful outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an individual who combines strong technical understanding with excellent consultancy and relationship-building skills.

You will ideally have experience or knowledge of:

• Manufacturing systems such as ERP, MRP, MES and PLM.
• IT and Operational Technology (OT) architectures.
• Manufacturing data flows and information systems.
• Digital transformation, process improvement, or manufacturing consultancy.
• Industry 4.0 technologies and emerging digital solutions.

The following would be advantageous:

• Manufacturing operational efficiency methodologies.
• Business process re-engineering.
• Change management principles.
