The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer / Senior Research Engineer to take technical ownership of complex electronics initiatives from concept to prototype and industrial deployment.

You will lead the delivery of electronic systems, transform customer requirements into robust architectures, and mentor engineers while ensuring quality, budget, and timescale adherence across projects.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years' industrial experience in electronics design, PCB development, embedded systems, reliability engineering or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design.
• PCB design expertise including layout, routing, signal integrity and EMC/EMI considerations.
• Experience translating customer requirements into specifications, verification plans and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of electronics standards, including relevant IEC and IPC standards.
• Experience with verification, validation, qualification and reliability testing.
• Embedded firmware development and hardware-software integration experience.
• Experience working with prototype, pre-production and manufacturing suppliers.
• Strong understanding of engineering assurance, compliance and technical risk management.

Essential Experience

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring:

• Aerospace, defence, medical, automotive, rail, energy or other high-reliability sectors.
• Process engineering, continuous improvement and statistical analysis.
• Coaching and mentoring engineers within technical teams.
