Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust seeks an IT training specialist to educate staff on new digital systems and support adoption of national programmes. The role involves designing and delivering high-quality digital training, tailoring content to different roles and coordinating end-user training within project timelines.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience, a recognised learning and development qualification, and strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High level of proficiency in the use of IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office. Advanced keyboard skills.
• Educated to degree level education or equivalent level or equivalent experience delivering training services. Recognised learning and development qualification
• Knowledge of the provision of health services. Demonstrable understanding of clinical workflows relevant to EPR in NHS setting.
• Must have a methodical, disciplined approach to working practices. Have knowledge of and be able to communicate effectively on complex operational requirements for training delivery
• Must be able to demonstrate both formal and informal communication ability, orally and in writing, when dealing with colleagues and other staff at all levels
• Must demonstrate experience in course development, planning and delivery, contributing to the success of a multi-disciplinary team as effective team member, contributing to the development of policies and procedures and of developing and executing testing plans.
• Experience of digital/IT clinical systems change/project management

Responsibilities

• Educate staff to effectively use new technology that may significantly alter existing roles in a rapidly changing environment.
• Promote a positive attitude towards digital change, information use and the collection of data across the organisation.
• Support the smooth transfer and expansion of existing digital skills to meet new requirements.
• Train staff at all levels on existing clinical systems and new systems introduced by the Trust or national programmes.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of clinical information systems and related working processes across the Trust.
• Provide training, support and guidance on Microsoft Office products.
• Co‑ordinate effective end‑user training for national and local IT system implementations within agreed project timescales.
• Identify training needs for each job role and tailor lesson plans accordingly.
• Assist in the design and delivery of high-quality digital training for Trust staff.
