Job summary

Oldham Council is offering a fixed term 36-month apprentice role to support the design, development, and maintenance of digital services, including web content management, software development, and system integration.

You will gain experience in programming, agile delivery, and digital service design while working with Digital, IT and service teams, with responsibilities to maintain websites, develop web features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and backend tech, and ensure accessibility, usability

Qualifications

• Strong interest in digital technology and software development.
• Ability to use IT systems confidently and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a range of tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Council’s websites and digital content using content management systems.
• Support the design, development, testing and deployment of digital and software solutions.
• Assist in developing web features and tools using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and backend technologies.
• Ensure digital services meet accessibility, usability and security standards.
• Work with colleagues to gather requirements and support service improvements.
