Job summary

South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is seeking a capable Project Support Officer to join the Digital Delivery team in Sheffield. The role focuses on keeping project information accurate, coordinating activities, and supporting project managers across a portfolio of digital projects.

You will organise meetings, maintain records, track risks, and prepare clear reports for decision-makers. PRINCE2/ITIL knowledge is desirable, with hybrid working and a strong emphasis on collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting projects, programmes or business activities.
• Experience in the public sector is helpful but not essential.
• PRINCE2 or ITIL knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Triaging new project requests into the department.
• Maintaining project plans, RAID logs, action logs and decision records.
• Tracking milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues.
• Organising meetings, workshops and governance boards.
• Preparing agendas and papers, taking minutes and following up actions.
• Supporting regular project and portfolio reporting.
• Helping teams follow agreed project management and governance processes.
• Supporting change control, financial tracking, and procurement administration.
• Maintaining accurate and secure project records.
• Identifying opportunities to improve project tools and templates.
