Job summary

Full Spectrum Print & Marketing in Basildon (Essex) is seeking a skilled Digital Press & Finishing Operator to run Konica Minolta AccurioPress systems and integrated finishing equipment. You will manage projects from digital file intake through high-speed printing to the final bound, cut, or folded product.

The ideal candidate will maintain precise colour management, troubleshoot high-volume toner systems, and operate inline and offline finishing.

Qualifications

• Experience operating digital presses and finishing equipment.
• Direct experience with Konica Minolta AccurioPress machines.
• Finishing skills with high-end operations (booklets, folding, scoring).
• Strong knowledge of EFI Fiery for file imposition, queue management, colour profiles.
• Mechanical aptitude for preventive maintenance and misfeed troubleshooting.
• Sharp eye for detail to catch alignment, colour, and finishing defects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite & PitStop Pro.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate Konica Minolta presses using Fiery Command WorkStation or print servers.
• Configure inline finishing modules for one-pass production (booklets, folds, slitters, creasing).
• Set up offline/near-line finishing (guillotines, creasers, saddle-stitch, coil/wire).
• Ensure precise margins, folds, and trims; monitor colour density and registration.
• Review electronic job tickets and ensure stock weights meet specs.
• Perform first-off and inline quality checks for defects before packaging.

We are looking for a skilled and quality-driven Digital Press & Finishing Operator with hands-on experience running Konica Minolta AccurioPress systems and integrated digital finishing equipment. In this role, you will manage projects from digital file intake through high-speed printing to the final bound, cut, or folded product.

The ideal candidate understands how to maintain precise colour management, troubleshoot high-volume toner systems, offline finishing systems to deliver flawless commercial print products.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate Konica Minolta production presses (e.g., AccurioPress series) using Fiery Command WorkStation or proprietary print servers.
• Utilize automated tools like the IQ-601 Intelligent Quality Optimizer to ensure perfect front-to-back registration and consistent colour density.
• Monitor machine performance, handle paper path clears, and manage consumables (toner, developer, rollers).

2. Digital Finishing & Post-Press Production

• Configure and monitor integrated inline finishing modules for seamless, one-pass production (including booklet makers, square-folders, slitters, and creasing units).
• Set up and safely operate offline/near-line finishing machinery such as automated programmable guillotines, creasers and binding equipment (saddle-stitch, coil/wire).
• Adjust calibrations on finishing equipment to ensure precise margins, sharp folds, and clean trims without damaging the toner.

3. Quality Control & File Prep

• Review and interpret electronic job tickets, checking for correct stock weights (ranging from light text bonds up to heavy 350+ gsm cover stocks).
• Perform continuous “first-off” and inline quality checks to inspect for banding, colour drift, alignment errors, scuffing, or cracking on folds.
• Ensure all finished products match client specifications exactly before packaging.

Technical Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: For operating digital presses and various finishing equipment.
• Brand Expertise: Direct experience with Konica Minolta AccurioPress machines
• Finishing Skills: Proficient with high-end finishing operations, including booklet making, folding, scoring etc.
• Software: Strong working knowledge of digital front ends (DFE) like EFI Fiery for file imposition, queue management, and colour profiles.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable performing basic preventative maintenance (cleaning sensors, replacing standard wear parts) and troubleshooting misfeeds.
• Sharp Eye for Detail: Ability to spot minor alignment issues, colour variations, or finishing defects instantly.
• Urgency & Efficiency: Capable of managing multiple project streams concurrently in a fast-paced, dead-line-driven environment.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite & Pitstop Pro: This is a Must
