SMP Group Plc is a leading, multi-award winning producer in POS and Out-of-Home advertising, delivering print and production solutions. The Digital Print Operator will set up, operate, adjust and maintain printing equipment, ensuring high-quality materials and on-time production.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process work from repro/print department.
• Prepare work to correct specifications before starting the job.
• Quality control to job requirements.
• Maintain production schedule and workflow.
• Notify supervisor/manager of major issues.
• Troubleshoot minor production problems to keep workflow smooth.
• Maintain machinery per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Keep work area and machinery clean and tidy.
• Select the correct media profile and rip the job for printing (training provided).

The Role: Digital Print Operator

Responsible for producing high quality printed materials following printing job specifications within the agreed time allocated, setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining the equipment to ensure that it functions optimally. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to resolves any issues related to production in a timely manner. Working closely with internal teams to ensure materials are available for production while maintaining high standards of organisation and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and process work sent down from the repro/print department
• Ensure that the work is prepared to the correct specification before commencing job
• QC to job requirements
• Maintain and process work according to the production schedule
• Notify the supervisor/manager when a major issue is encountered
• Problem solves minor issues, to ensure that the work flows smoothly through the department
• Maintain the machinery to manufacturers recommendations
• Keep work area and machinery clean and tidy
• Select the correct media profile then rip the job to be printed (training will be given if needed)

About You: The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience working on required equipment relevant to print processes
• Good visual colour recognition and appreciation of colour gamut
• Operatives must not be colour deficient
• Knowledge of equipment and production operations
• Thorough knowledge of print production practices and processes
• High level of attention to detail
• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively internally with colleagues
